The peace sign was created in 1958 by an artist named Gerald Holtom. The symbol was created for a protest march in London against nuclear weapons. It eventually became a symbol for all opposition to nuclear weapons and during the 60s and 70s the peace and hippie movements took it further under the quote "make peace not war" and it then became a symbol of peace for the whole world. By wearing a peace sign you show the world that you are against war and FOR peace!"
